West Cape Howe 2004 "BookEnds" Cabernet Sauvignon
There's rich blackcurrant fruit with licorice, spicy oak and fine, firm tannins in this Great Southern red. Try it now with roast lamb, duck or richer veal dishes or cellar for five years or more.

West Cape Howe 2004 "BookEnds" Cabernet Sauvignon
This new Western Australian Cabernet is not from the pricey Margaret River region, but from the Great Southern. It's a medium-weight red wine with some good, tight red berry flavours, followed by drying, fine tannins and some dustiness from the oak barrels.

winery's fab four
"It was only a small line-up of wines. Just the four. But each offered something quite different and very interesting. The wines were from the Denmark-based West Cape Howe and I was sitting and sipping with winemaker Gavin Berry".

Wine Label Designer of the Year: Jodie Presenza of Turner Design
Jodie is the creative force behind the stylish West Cape Howe wine labels. As a graphic designer with one of WA's largest design studios, her portfolio also includes labels for Amberley and Zeepaard. Modest about her striking designs, she says it is all part of a day's work.
"I think all designers strive to deliver a result that not only exceeds clients' expectations, but also those we set for ourselves. It's this very challenge that inspires us to move laterally through the process of developing ideas, not only to fulfil the brief but also to take the concept beyond what's expected.
It's about working towards the bigger picture, creating an identity that not only works hard in the immediate future, but just like a good bottle of wine, it continues to develop and improve over the years. My goal is to create an image that is as relevant in 10 years as it is today."
